Open Species: Lantern Wyrms

Dragon like creatures born from lanterns.

These guys can be combined for different looks. Such as A Oriental body with Rustic fur and the end of a Gale's tail. You can have free range of combination.
Most are pretty customizable with their colors except for Rustics, however they could have genes from any of the other three to give them a different color pallet.

They can survive with out their lanterns, but will feel vulnerable and take to hiding until they can find a replacement.
Some have been known to change colors to match their new home.

Orientals:
Born from different style Chinese lanterns.
Traditionally Gold bodied with red tail.
Their bodies are whatever color is printed or painted on the lantern.
The tail color is the base of the lantern, often tipped with a random color.
They have different jobs ranging from collecting souls to protecting homes.
They can range in various sizes.
Depending on what is written on the lantern, they can anything from docile to evil.
Most of the time they are peaceful and love to watch and often partake in festivals. The ones born evil and mean are often created when a dark word is painted onto a lantern.
Regardless, they are loyal to their creator.



Rustics:
Born from old fashioned fire lanterns.
Traditionally rust or copper color, often speckled with whites and greys.
The fur around their neck ranges from white to black. Greys have been seen as well. They can withstand cold temps and will ride around the neck of their owners to keep them warm.
They have fire on the tip of the tail that can flare up depending on their mood or if they need to assist in seeing in the dark.
They are docile and laid back, as well as protective of their owner. Ownerless Rustics will seek out things to protect. If they go without something to guard they will either die of loneliness or become feral and ruthless. They are the biggest of the breed.



Rivers:
Born from lanterns sent down streams.
The smallest of the breed.
Very kind and loving. They often fall victim to people of ill intent, since they trust anyone. They can loose their will to trust if treated badly, often becoming reclusive and lonely.
Rivers with pale coloring are said to be ones who were mistreated.
Their colors have a wide range, depending on the color used to write on the lantern.
If nothing is written, they are born colorless and find a color they like and adopt it.




Gales:
Born from lanterns that use fire to float.
The longest of the breed.
Gales are snobby and smug. They spend hours keeping their cloud-like fluff in perfect condition.
Their colors very depending on what is written on their lantern. If nothing is written they will become different shades of blue.
Gale Wyrms fire stays a consistent low unless they feel threatened or are angered.
When they get angry, their cloud fluff will change to ominous colors. They can get violent and have said to be the cause of most thunder storms.
